HDPE Pipe Jointing
We are fully equipped to handle all your Polyethylene pipe and fittings fusion work. Our service personnel are factory certified and trained in the proper procedures for using both heat fusion and electrofusion to form strong and durable joints with Polyethylene pipe. Experience has shown that a joint made by a properly trained person, using proven fusion procedures and that passes a visual inspection based on proper bead formation, will have strength characteristics comparable to the pipe itself. Fused pipe sections become, in effect, a single piece of pipe.
Our professional fusion technicians have been fully trained and certified to operate all thermal fusion equipment (butt, socket, sidewall & electro-fusion), cutting equipment, mobile transfer equipment and are well versed in all aspects of handling polyethylene. They are always up to date on the latest safety procedures and are equipped to work in extreme cold, wet, outside, inside and come prepared for the job.
WHAT IT IS
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe is used in municipal, construction, industrial, mining, and environmental markets for fluid transfer. HDPE pipe can be fused together as a means of connecting pieces, bends and adapters.
HOW IT WORKS
HDPE pipe and fittings are connected together by a process called heat or butt fusion. Using a fusion machine, the ends of the pipes being fused are held stationary. A cutter blade trims the HDPE pipe facing ends and a heater plate is placed between the ends being connected. The heater plate is then removed and the ends of the pipe are brought together under pressure and allowed to cool.
WHY IT MAKES SENSE
HDPE pipe fusion allows you to put pieces together to make a long line, add a bend, or change pipe size. Shyam Pipes offers self-contained fusion machines for rent for on-site HDPE pipe fusion and installation. We can also provide experienced on-site certified Fusion Technicians who use our machines to fuse HDPE pipe up to 36 in (900 mm) in diameter.
